Pre-Hispanic Caves in the San Miguel Ravine

Cuevas aborígenes de El Roque, bco. de San Miguel

The most important pre-Hispanic cave habitats in Valsequillo are to be found on the sunny slopes of the San Miguel Ravine. Many of them are now being reused as part of the family homes, as is the case with the Tecén or Los Llanetes vineyard terrains. However, it is in this latter place where the greatest number of caves conserving their original state is to be founded, with El Roque, a small rocky fortress situated between the San Miguel and Los Mocanes Ravines standing out because of its spectacular appearance.
